The Boghossian Foundation supports multiples and crafts through two projects: B2 and SILA.

Editions of the Boghossian Foundation brings together two distinctive initiatives: one dedicated to the intersection of art and the multiple, and the other to the realms of design and craftsmanship. B2 presents limited editions of printed works by contemporary artists who have either resided at or exhibited in the Villa Empain. SILA is an initiative that seeks to foster a contemporary appreciation of traditional craftsmanship, expertise, and Oriental cultures through the design of objects.

SILA

Ralph Boghossian, founder of SILA
Passionate about design and deeply committed to promoting the craftsmanship of the Middle East, Ralph Boghossian founded SILA to bring craftsmanship, contemporary creation and heritage into dialogue. He is also the initiator of the Boghossian Foundation’s International Prize for Design and Craftsmanship.

Domizia del Gallo, Project Manager
Domizia del Gallo oversees the development and coordination of SILA’s projects, from identifying designers and artisans and developing collections through to their production and presentation.

André Chami, Artistic Director and publisher of Pierre Gonalons’ editions
For SILA, André Chami invites designers to engage with the expertise of artisans in Beirut, giving rise to original editions. He is the artistic director of the Fountainhead and Alcôve editions, developed in collaboration with designer Pierre Gonalons.

SILA is an initiative of the Boghossian Foundation dedicated to promoting, preserving, and offering a contemporary perspective on traditional craftmanship, artisanal expertise, and the cultures of the East through the creation of a curated collection of objects.

The ancient civilizations of the East have undergone profound upheaval. The era when their scientific, medical, philosophical, and cultural achievements influenced and inspired all of Europe has passed and has, in many ways, faded from collective memory.

It is essential to revive their craftmanship, safeguard their tangible and intangible heritage, and enable these overlooked cultures to reclaim the dignity they deserve.

B2 Editions

The Boghossian Foundation presents B2, a series of limited editions launched to mark its 15th anniversary in 2025.

The series is created in collaboration with multidisciplinary artists who have developed a special relationship with Villa Empain through exhibitions or research residencies.

Produced exclusively in Belgium, each edition follows a unique B2 format, measuring 50 × 70 cm. Every work is published in a limited edition of 100 copies, individually numbered and hand-signed by the artist.

The Foundation develops a collection of high-quality fine art prints—including lithographs, engravings, inkjet prints, and screen prints—produced in close collaboration with the artists.

All proceeds from the sale of the B2 editions are dedicated to directly supporting Villa Empain’s artist residency programme.
