The Boghossian Foundation is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 22 with the exhibition Soleil Noir. See you soon!

The Boghossian Foundation is proud to host the event Zaventem Ateliers from 11 to 19 March. For a few days, the Villa Empain becomes the setting for a singular encounter between contemporary creation, craftsmanship and the art of living.

Founded in 2019 by Lionel Jadot, Zaventem Ateliers is an unconventional creative hub housed in a former 19th-century paper mill. This vast 6.000 m² industrial site, reimagined as a center for creative production, now brings together around thirty artisans, artists and designers. Conceived as a place for making, experimentation and exchange, Zaventem Ateliers embodies a contemporary vision of design, deeply rooted in materiality, gesture and craftsmanship.

At the Villa Empain, more than thirty creators fully inhabit the space and reside there temporarily: they work, eat and rest on site. The works and objects are not presented as mere pieces to be contemplated, but as elements of everyday life, activated through use, movement and repetition. This domestic experience creates a dialogue between two worlds: that of the Villa Empain, designed in 1930 as a private residence, and that of Zaventem Ateliers, shaped by contemporary, direct and experimental practices.

Experience this encounter between past and present through a lived experience of creation. Explore the inhabited Villa and share this unique moment where design, craftsmanship and architecture come together.

ABOUT ZAVENTEM ATELIERS

A visit to Villa Empain is always a good idea: this Art Deco villa from 1934, designed by Michel Polak for Baron Louis Empain, is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.
