The Boghossian Foundation is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 22 with the exhibition Soleil Noir. See you soon!

The Boghossian Foundation is pleased to welcome Grégoire Jakhian, who will be in conversation with journalist Eddy Caekelberghs about his recent essay, a critical analysis of the challenges facing the Armenian diaspora, as well as other communities and minorities confronted with injustice.

He raises the following question: if Germany had forever denied the Holocaust, could a Jew from the diaspora, descendant of a family affected by it, in 2055 – one hundred and ten years after the events – renounce his or her status as a victim and the fight for recognition of the Holocaust? Could such a person abandon demands for reparation without denying the reality of the genocide?

Grégoire Jakhian invites the Armenian diaspora to reflect on this same question in relation to the genocide of 1915. His work encourages resistance to the fictions within which the Armenian diaspora continues to live, whether by conviction or complacency, and calls for the city rather than the community, politics rather than the political, debate rather than trial. Despite the absence of recognition. Despite injustice.
