The Boghossian Foundation is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 22 with the exhibition Soleil Noir. See you soon!

The Boghossian Foundation invites you to an exclusive discovery of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, an iconic place where history, culture, and heritage come together.

Initiated around 1837, the project of the young architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaer aimed to clean up a working-class neighborhood. A leading figure in eclecticism, he imagined the construction of buildings combining homes, shops, cultural spaces and walking areas. The official inauguration took place on June 20, 1847, in the presence of King Leopold I.

The three Florentine Renaissance style passages will be at the heart of the historical exchanges between Brussels and Paris, and will welcome Victor Hugo, Rimbaud, Verlaine, Baudelaire, Guitry, Magritte, Barbara, Brel, Belmondo, E.-E. Schmidt among many others. Even today, this flagship of the metropolis remains a magical place where housing, commerce and culture coexist on a level playing field.

The visit guided by Paul Grosjean will begin in the boardroom of the Société des Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, sole owner since 1847 of this important Brussels heritage. You will have the opportunity to explore behind the scenes of the Théâtre Royal des Galeries in the company of its director since 1998, David Michels. After other surprises, this journey will end in the temple of gastronomy that has been, since 1928, the Taverne du Passage.
