Lecture ◇ 7 November 2024 Sold out

One year after the renewed conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, a new front has broken out in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah. After the social crisis and economic chaos, Lebanese society has been hit by the ordeal of war. The Boghossian Foundation is delighted to welcome Christophe Ayad, a journalist with Le Monde and a specialist in the Middle East, to explain what is at stake in this conflict.

Christophe Ayad is a journalist at Le Monde and reports on terrorism. From 1994 to 2000, he was a correspondent in Egypt for the French newspaper Libération and has covered stories from the Arab world for twenty years. In 2004, he was awarded the Albert-Londres Prize for his reporting in Iraq and in Rwanda. Author of Géopolitique de l’Égypte (Complexe Editions, 2002), he co-wrote and co-directed Darfour, autopsie d’une tragédie (Arte, 2006) as well as Le crépuscule des Assad (Arte, 2011). He was the International News editor and reporter at Le Monde from 2014 to 2018. His latest book Géopolitique du Hezbollah was published by Presses Universitaires de France in 2024.

Gaïdz Minassian is a journalist at Le Monde and a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris.
