On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a vast military offensive against Ukraine. This war of aggression, which rhymes with neo-imperial warfare, is upsetting the world order and calling into question peace in Europe. Almost a year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where do we stand exactly? Why did Moscow attack its neighbour? How are the Ukrainians resisting and adapting to an increasingly difficult military situation while their army’s counter-attack has achieved major successes in the south and east of the country?
