The Boghossian Foundation is temporarily closed and will reopen on October 22 with the exhibition Soleil Noir. See you soon!

Reflecting its mission of bringing cultures closer together, the Boghossian Foundation invites you along the shores of the Mediterranean, to discover Thessaloniki in Greece.

Thessaloniki is the country’s second city and its second port. Strategically located at the crossroads between East and West, the beautiful capital of Macedonia stretches along the northern coastline of the Aegean Sea. The city’s historical heritage, rooted in Antiquity, abounds in invaluable yet little-known treasures. Beyond its cultural wealth, however, Thessaloniki is also a young and vibrant city, renowned for its fashionable cafés and tavernas, its beaches, and its Mediterranean climate. As our journey coincides with the 9th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, contemporary creation will also play an important role in the rich programme on offer.

This voyage will be accompanied by Professor Bernard Coulie. Holding a doctorate in Philology and Oriental History from the Université catholique de Louvain (1985), Professor Coulie taught Byzantine, Armenian and Georgian studies, as well as European culture and identity, at UCLouvain, where he served as Professor Ordinarius. Author of more than 470 publications, he was Rector of UCLouvain from 2004 to 2009.
